The Houston Apartment Foundation has held a chili cook off as the annual fundraiser for over 25 years.  The Chili Cook-off Committee is the planning group for the event.  The cook off raises funds to help defray the cost of offering the various HAF education programs, support the funding of education grants for NAA certification courses.   This event is held in the fall.  

The committee is comprised of both supplier and owner/management members that assist HAA staff in the execution of the annual fall event. The committee meets monthly beginning in July, with additional subcommittee meetings scheduled periodically on an as-needed basis. Appointees are selected based on one or more of the following criteria:

 

  • Currently works for an HAA member company
  • Previous participation and history
  • Purchase a booth, sell a single or double booth, and/or secure an event sponsorship
  • Secure a silent auction item for the event
