2022 Community Service Events and Projects


HAA community outreach identifies positive apartment related community service projects for participation by the association and/or individual member companies. The Community Outreach committee  (open to any member) recommends association involvement in community service projects, plays a coordinating and oversight role in projects approved for association involvement. The committee helps to create a positive public image for the association and its members by promoting to the public the community service activities and projects.

Food Bank Food Drive - November 1-December 3
HAA has participated in the annual Share Your Holidays food drive since 1983. Properties and member companies can collect people and pet food and drop off at our two locations - Camp Construction and Cotton Commercial.  
The food is then taken to the Food Bank to help feed Houstonians. Please follow this link for more details and to sign up to collect food. Food Drive Details

Blood Drive-June 14, 2022
Thank you to all of our members and staff who have donated blood for Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. According to The Blood Center, one unit of donated blood can save up to three lives. School Supply Drive - June 1 - July 22
This year we are collecting for the Spring Independent School District. The Spring Independent School District serves over 35,000 pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students.  Please follow this link for a complete Amazon list of needed supplies.  Please have the supplies delivered to the HAA building, 4810 Westway Park Blvd, 77041 by July 22.  HAA will drop off to the district for distribution. 

Breakfast Bags for Seniors - March 10, 24 and September 29
Help InterFaith Ministries assembly breakfast bags to be delivered to homebound seniors.  If you would like to help, reach out to Susan at shinkley@haaonline.org.

Sports Challenge - April 22 
Proceeds from this event raised $16,400 for Crime Stoppers. Many thanks to the companies who supported the event with a team and to our volunteers.  Crime Stoppers of Houston is a non profit dedicated to public safety and since 1980 has remained committed to its mission to solve and prevent serious crime in the greater Houston area in partnership with citizens, media and the criminal justice system.
